Once a fruit plant is placed in the container, it is important to keep a close eye on it and only water it when needed. You want to avoid letting the soil dry out completely and daily watering may not be necessary unless it's extremely hot.
The sun and its light will obviously play a part in drying your plant out, so be aware of the conditions. These conditions include the intensity of sunlight your plant is getting and how much sunlight your plant is receiving. As a general rule, water when the soil is dry to the touch a couple of inches below the surface.
